Traverse City Building School To Teach Kids the Montessori Method

Traverse City is building a school where children can learn the Montessori method.

The TCAPS school board agreed to spend more than $ 20 million on the project.

The district already has a Montessori school, but the new building is designed for a more collaborative learning environment.

The school will have a pod classroom structure, a science laboratory, an art and Spanish room, a greenhouse, music rooms and a large gym.

It is being built on the west side of Traverse City and can accommodate up to 550 students up to eighth grade.

The construction work is expected to be completed in autumn 2022.
