More Charging Stations for Electric Cars Coming To Traverse City

There are more charging stations for electric cars in Traverse City.

On Friday, Traverse City Light and Power celebrated the occasion with a ribbon cutting ceremony in Clinch Park.

They celebrated the 27 new electric charging stations that rolled through the city.

You’ll soon find them in downtown parking lots and the Traverse Area District Library.

The aim is to reduce the city’s carbon footprint.

“This really is the future of mobility,” says Maggie Striz Calnin of Michigan Clean Cities. “There will always be a multitude of fueling options, but we really need to drive this low-emission, zero-emission powertrain.”

Traverse City Light and Power will have a map of the new charging stations shortly.
