Leon Plug Obituary (2021) – Lansing, IL

Leon plug

DYER, IN / FORMERLY IN LANSING, IL – Leon D Plug, age 80, of Dyer, IN, formerly of Lansing, IL, passed away on November 13th, 2021. Preceded by his parents Adrian “Bob” and Ann (Vander Weide) Plug. Leon leaves behind his loving wife Rosalie (Schabacker) of 56 years, daughter Amy (Eric) Williams from Naperville, IL, son, David (Diane) Plug of Highlands Ranch, CO and his sister Marilyn (Ed) Nannenga from De Motte, IN. Leon also outlived his grandchildren: Brian (Meghan) Williams, Tyler Williams, Katherine (Sam) Bogits, Dylan Plug, and Drew Plug; together with great-grandchildren Grant and Kelsey Williams.

Leon was a choirmaster, music teacher, and craftsman who loved fishing and the Chicago Cubs. Leon has volunteered with his church on many missionary trips. Leon was a member of the Illiana Community Choral and the Northwest Indiana Symphony Chorus. Leon graduated from Illiana Christian High School in 1959 and Vander Cook College in 1963. He was a longtime member of the Bethel CRC in Lansing, IL.

The visitation for Leon will take place on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bethel CRC, 3500 Glenwood-Lansing Road, Lansing, IL, followed by a service led by Shaun Buikema. Leon is buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Lansing, IL.
