Leavenworth’s McLaughlin, Lansing’s Williams voted UKC football players of the year – Leavenworth Times

The United Kansas Conference Offensive and Defensive Football Players of the Year both came from Leavenworth County.

Leavenworth quarterback Eddie McLaughlin was voted the Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for 1,365 yards and 14 touchdowns and passing for 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Lansing lineman Jamale Williams was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year after recording 63 tackles, including 30 for loss.

Along with McLaughlin and Williams, Leavenworth County had nine other football players voted to either the First Team offense or defense.

Basehor-Linwood had five selections – receiver Brant Wilson, tight end Nash McCarty, offensive lineman Levi Cooley, linebacker Gage Greer and defensive back Kaleb Scott.

Wilson had 38 receptions for 617 yards and five touchdowns. McCarty caught 22 passes for 195 yards and three touchdowns. On special teams, Wilson was also a First Team kick returner.

Greer led the Bobcats with 99 total tackles, including 9.5 for loss. Scott recorded 52 tackles.

Lansing receiver Lexton Grafke was voted to the First Team offense after leading the UKC with 1,123 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Lansing linebacker Luciano Riggi (50 tackles) and defensive back Adrian Spencer (30 tackles) were selected to the First Team defense.

Leavenworth defensive back Jacob Robinson (70 tackles, two interceptions) was also voted to the First Team defense.
