Lansing Mann wins $ 300,000 from Michigan Lottery

LANSING, me. – A lucky Lansing man plans to pay bills, help his family, and invest the remaining cash from his $ 300,000 prize pool after winning the Michigan Lottery 5X Cashword game.

The man who wanted to remain anonymous initially believed he had won $ 2,000.

“I scratched the ticket in the parking lot,” he said, according to a press release for the Michigan Lottery. “I didn’t check through to the end and found that I won the $ 2,000 award. That was exciting enough for me! “

It was the man’s son who noticed the much greater price.

“I gave my son the ticket to check my winnings of $ 2,000 and he said, ‘Dad, if I look at this right, you didn’t win $ 2,000, you won $ 300,000!’ the man said.

The winning ticket was bought from Aurelius Corners in Lansing.

According to the Michigan Lottery, players have won more than $ 49 million playing the 5X Cashword game. The new lottery game started in February 2020. Prizes of more than $ 12 million remain, including three prizes of $ 10,000 and 20 prizes of $ 2,000.
