Lansing Community College basketball camps return after pandemic hiatus

After two years of empty gyms in the summer, Lansing Community College’s basketball camps are back, with the first of three week-long sessions beginning this Monday.

The camp sessions run 9 am to 4 pm Monday through Thursday and 9 am to noon on Friday. The first session is June 20 through June 24, followed by another week-long session June 27-July 1 and another July 11-15.

The camp, open to boys and girls in grades 3 through 8, is directed by longtime LCC men’s basketball coach Mike Ingram and held in LCC’s Cannon Gymnasium on LCC’s main campus.

The cost is $135 for each session.

The camp includes evaluation by coaches and a draft for teams. Players will stay with the same coach and team for the entire week. There will also be guest speakers and contests with awards, as well as program for campers and parents on Friday.

Each participant receives a camp T-shirt. Participants should bring gym clothes, athletic shoes and a water bottle, as well as lunch or money for lunch.
