Gutierrez, No. 65, and five other retired Lions visited Alpena on Friday for the Detroit Lions Legends vs. the Alpena DARE All-Stars, in a family-friendly interactive basketball game that involved many enthusiastic kids picked from the crowd to shoot baskets, wrestle with Lions, and show off their skills. The event was held Friday at Thunder Bay Junior High, with the bleachers full of fans of all ages, many of whom wore Lions attire and jerseys bearing the names of their favorite players. The Alpena DARE All-Stars consisted of players from the men’s and women’s basketball teams at Alpena Community College.
