“An 8-year-old male clinging to a live wire, 4,800 volts,” Dwyer said. “The officers immediately exited their vehicle, pulled the 8-year-old male victim off the wire, immediately put the 8-year-old victim with his older brother, 10 years old – who was not injured at the time – into their vehicle .”

The eight-year-old is in critical condition. Two officers were taken to the hospital. After the Monday storms, Indiana Michigan Power reminded everyone to stay away from downed power lines and to report them right away. I&M also noted fallen tree limbs and other debris can hide downed power lines, do those doing clean up should be wary. While crews work to restore power after storms, the utility residents asked to avoid approaching them.
