Briarwood Mall shooting victims and shooters knew each different, police say
ANN ARBOR, MI – Police are still investigating the shooting at Briarwood Mall, which ended without arrest, in which a man was bullet wound.

According to the Ann Arbor Police Department, detectives are still working to identify and speak to everyone involved in the shootings, which took place at the Von Maur department store in the mall at around 3 p.m. on Friday, April 16.
The alleged shooter and the victim were known to each other, but the motive for the shooting is still unclear, police said.
Several shots were reportedly fired during the incident which resulted in emergency teams being called into the 100 Briarwood Circle mall, police said.
Police found a male victim with non-life threatening injuries who was then rushed to the University of Michigan hospital, where he was kept in stable condition, police said. The man has since been released from the hospital.
The police began evacuating the mall employees shop by shop as soon as they got to the scene.

About eight hours after the shooting, at around 10 p.m., police announced that they had cleared the scene without any suspects.
The shooting continues to be actively investigated, police said.

Police praised the shopping malls’ lockdown protocols in place at the time of the shooting, saying they had worked very effectively to keep customers and staff safe, and enabled officials to sweep the entire mall so as not to add any additional danger to the public guarantee.
